2026 FIRE Student Photo Competition dedicated to high-temperature resistant materials
If you are a student or recent graduate (up to 5 years after graduation), we invite you to submit a photo showing a material being able to withstand the power of FIRE. Both refractory and another high temperature resistant material qualify. Whether it is from a lab or industrial environment, we would love to see what amazes you.
How to take part?
Prepare an eye-catching photo with a title and a short description (50-100 words), ensuring that all important information is included. Then, simply send it to fire@ecers.org. After the initial preselection by FIRE Jury, the LinkedIn audience will vote for their favourites and choose the winners.
What can you win? Eternal glory! …and on top of that:
- 1st place: FIRE compendium books + Free entry to ICR 2027 Congress in Aachen
- 2nd place and 3rd place: FIRE Compendium books
Save the dates
- Photos submission is open until 27th November.
- Online voting will be open for 2 weeks.
- Winners’ announcement: mid-December.
Take your chance!
Share your best photo with the story and let it compete, as it can be the one that catches everyone’s eye.
And remember - it doesn’t have to be super serious. Be creative, have fun, and surprise the LinkedIn audience!
So, lights, camera, FIRE!
…and don’t forget to follow the FIRE LinkedIn page!

Highlight of the members of the Board of Directors - Victor Carlos Pandolfelli
My journey with FIRE began in 2003, together with Prof. Michel Rigaud and other academic and industrial colleagues. In 2005, our first official meeting in Limoges, France, transformed this vision into reality. From the beginning, FIRE was founded on a strong belief in cooperation between universities and industry towards a better education. Its strength has always come from working across institutional, cultural, and national borders.
