New Impact factors released for the 2 ECerS Journals!
We are pleased to announce that the 2025 Impact Factors were released for the two official Journals of the European Ceramic Society:
- Journal of ECerS: 6.3
- Open Ceramics: 3.4
Both Journals also remain in the Q1 category (Journal Citation Reports, Clarivate), reflecting their continued excellence and the outstanding contributions of our authors, reviewers and editorial teams.
Special thank and huge congratulations to our 2 Editors in Chief, Jérôme Chevalier (Journal of ECerS) and Paolo Colombo (Open Ceramics) as well as their respective editorial teams for this great achievement!

My interest in refractories began during my engineering studies in ceramics at ENSCI Limoges, when I discovered that the refractory specialisation offered an international research experience through the FIRE program. I quickly realised that refractories are far more complex and fascinating than simple bricks.

I had the immense pleasure of being invited to talk about cooperative refractory research and education during the plenary session of the 20th China National Youth Academic Symposium on Refractories last May. The event took place in Yangzhou, China, and served as a perfect platform to promote the key mission of the Federation of International Refractory Research and Education (FIRE).
