Building on the successful collaborations between the German Ceramic Society (DKG), the German Association for Refractories and Chimney Construction (dgfs), the university institutes of TU Bergakademie Freiberg, and RATH AG in previous Freiberg Refractory Symposia, the 6th FFF Symposium 2026 will focus on the topic "Status and Perspectives of Thermal Process Technology."

I discovered the world of ceramics when I arrived at the ENSCI (the national engineering school for industrial ceramics) in Limoges, France, in 2004. I quickly became fascinated by refractory materials: these discreet but essential ceramics, without which many of the materials we use today simply could not exist.
